COLLAGENIC AESTHETICS

PHLEBOTOMY TRAINING PROGRAM - FULL ENROLLMENT OVERVIEW

Day 1 Foundations of Phlebotomy

Orientation & Welcome: Students are introduced to the instructor, training site policies, and receive an

overview of the 5-day curriculum.

Anatomy & Physiology: Students learn about the circulatory system, including arteries, veins, and the role of

the heart. Key vein sites like the median cubital vein are identified.

Blood Composition: Explanation of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma, including their

purposes and percentages in the blood.

Infection Control & OSHA Standards: Importance of PPE (gloves, masks), how to prevent needlestick

injuries, disposal of biohazard materials, and how to respond to exposure incidents.

Day 2 Equipment Use & Technique Mastery

Equipment Identification: Overview of the phlebotomy tray and components including tourniquets, needle

types (straight, butterfly), antiseptics, gauze, bandages, and vacutainer systems.

Venipuncture Procedure: Step-by-step demonstration on how to perform a successful venipuncture,

including vein selection, needle insertion angle, tube handling, and order of operations.

Capillary Punctures: Students learn when to use finger sticks or heel sticks (e.g. pediatric or geriatric

patients) and perform simulated tests on dummies.

Simulated Practice: Students perform mock blood draws using fake arms to develop hand coordination,

patient communication, and adherence to hygiene protocols.

Day 3 Specimen Handling, Order of Draw, and Live Practice

Specimen Labeling & Handling: Instruction on matching patient info, correct labeling of tubes, maintaining

sample integrity, and avoiding pre-analytical errors.

Tube Color Guide & Additives: In-depth charting of tube colors, their chemical additives, and their associated

lab tests (e.g., lavender top = EDTA for CBC tests).

Order of Draw: Explanation of the specific sequence to avoid cross-contamination of additives from tube to

tube. Reinforced with diagrams and examples.

Live Blood Draws: Under instructor supervision, students begin drawing real blood from classmates or

volunteers using all prior knowledge and proper safety measures.

Day 4 Patient Interaction & Full Process Simulation

Patient Preparation: How to professionally greet, confirm identity, explain procedures, and answer common

patient concerns. Includes practice scenarios with role-play.

Troubleshooting Difficult Draws: What to do when veins collapse, how to reposition or select alternate sites,

and handling fainting or anxious patients.

Full Clinical Simulation: Each student performs the complete blood draw process from check-in to labeling

and clean-up in a mock clinic setup.

Day 5 Final Exam & National Certification Prep

Written Exam: Students take a mock written test modeled after the national certification exam to evaluate

their retention and comprehension.

Practical Skills Assessment: Students must demonstrate all procedural steps independently, including hand

hygiene, vein selection, needle disposal, and patient aftercare.

After completing the 5-day program, students will receive a Certificate of Completion. They will then take the

approved state exam for phlebotomy.

Upon passing, students become nationally certified and can work in hospitals, labs, doctors offices, mobile

labs, and more across the U.S

Why 5 Days vs. 6-12 Month Programs

Traditional phlebotomy programs often stretch 6 to 12 months, delaying certification and income. Our

program delivers the exact same instruction and hands-on experience in a condensed format by eliminating

gaps and redundant coursework. We focus on mastery through immersion. This allows students to start

working faster without sacrificing educational quality or safety.

Policies & Requirements

Students must complete the full 5-day schedule.

Students must pass both the written and practical final exams.

No refunds under any circumstances, regardless of attendance.

Respectful behavior and professionalism are mandatory at all times.

Dress Code & Attendance Policy

All students are required to wear solid black scrubs and closed-toe shoes every day. Full attendance is

required. Any absences must be approved in advance and will require makeup sessions. More than one

unexcused absence may result in removal from the program.

Why Choose an Accelerated Program?

Longer phlebotomy programs often take months and delay employment. Our 5-day course covers the same

curriculum with intense, focused instruction. Graduates leave job-ready with professional-level skills and fast

entry into the medical field.
